Introducing Synergy STEM Talent: Bridging Potential with Possibility

At Synergy STEM Partners (SSP), we believe that talent is more than just aptitude—it’s curiosity, courage, and a willingness to engage with change. The new Synergy STEM Talent initiative is our commitment to unlocking that potential: nurturing STEM-capable individuals, connecting them with meaningful opportunities and enabling organisations to benefit from that capability.

Why Talent?

In a world where science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) underpin so much of business and innovation, the demand for skilled, adaptable and motivated people has never been greater. At the same time, many organisations—especially small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in North Wales, North West England and beyond—find it challenging to identify, attract and retain individuals with the right mixture of technical skill and growth mindset.

Synergy STEM Talent is designed to address both sides of the equation:

  • For individuals, it provides structured pathways, mentoring, and access to careers in dynamic sectors.

  • For organisations, it offers a curated talent pool, tailored recruitment support and a partner who understands the STEM ecosystem and its interplay with creative industries.

What do we offer?

1. Talent Identification & Development

We work with schools, colleges, universities and training providers to identify high-potential learners and early-career professionals who demonstrate aptitude for STEM and a willingness to contribute. Through workshops, assessments, coaching and real-world projects, we help individuals build both technical competence and the professional behaviours employers value.

2. Recruitment & Placement Support

Organisations partnering with Synergy STEM Partners can access a pipeline of talent ready for apprenticeships, graduate roles and early-career placements. Our role is to understand organisation culture, capability needs and future ambition—and match those with candidates who align. This reduces the cost, time and risk of recruitment.

3. Career Pathways & Mentoring

Talent that joins our programme receives ongoing support: mentors from industry, access to CPD (continuing professional development), networking opportunities and exposure to sectors including animation, design, games, film/TV, visual art/photography and music/radio. By connecting STEM with creative industries, we help individuals explore varied, fulfilling career trajectories.

4. Employer Partnerships & Talent Activation

For employers, we provide more than just sourcing talent. We offer consultancy on how to design talent-friendly roles (including apprenticeships), plan for retention and development, and embed inclusive practices that engage diverse talent (including women in STEM). Our network across North Wales, Cheshire and North West England means you benefit from regional insight and strong local ties.

The Benefits

  • For individuals: A clear route into STEM careers, access to mentoring and skills development, and exposure to exciting industries combining STEM + creative sectors.

  • For organisations: Access to motivated candidates, reduced recruitment friction, tailored support and enhanced employer brand.

  • For the region: A thriving ecosystem where STEM capability is grown locally, innovation is accelerated and businesses flourish.

Our Approach — Principles We Live By

  • Inclusion & Diversity: We recognise that talent comes in many forms, and we actively promote gender-balance, under-represented groups and broad industry access.

  • Hands-on Experience: Theory is valuable—but real-world challenges are critical. Projects, placements and marshalling of creative-STEM combinations are core.

  • Employer-Driven: We listen to what businesses need now and will need in the future. Talent is developed with those real needs in view.

  • Sustainability: We don’t ‘drop’ candidates after placement. Continuous development, support and progression are essential.

  • Regional Impact: Based in North Wales and the North West, we’re committed to delivering local value—boosting our communities, education sectors and economy.

How to Get Involved

For individuals

If you’re a student, recent graduate or early-career professional interested in STEM (and beyond) and want long-term career support, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll receive guidance, be part of a talent community and engage with employers who value what you bring.

For organisations

If your business is in STEM or the creative industries (or the intersection of both), and you’re looking for early-career talent, apprentices or graduates—Synergy STEM Talent is ready to partner. Whether you need help defining roles, sourcing talent or developing retention strategies, we’re here to support.

For education & training partners

We work with schools, colleges and universities to plug into talent development. Together, we can prepare the next generation of STEM-capable individuals, give them exposure to the world of work and support their transition into employment.

Looking Ahead

The launch of Synergy STEM Talent marks a bold step in our mission: turning STEM potential into practical impact. Over the coming months, we’ll share stories of placements, employer successes, candidate profiles and how STEM + creative sector collaborations are changing the game. Stay tuned to our blog and social channels for updates.

In the meantime, thank you for joining us on this journey. Whether you’re an aspiring talent, an employer or an education partner, we’re excited to see what we can build together.
