🌱 Introducing Synergy STEM CIC: Empowering Communities Through Inclusive Learning

We are delighted to introduce Synergy STEM CIC (Community Interest Company) — the social impact arm of the Synergy STEM Group. While Synergy STEM Partners focuses on delivery, consultancy and industry collaboration, our CIC exists for one clear purpose:

To make high-quality STEM, financial literacy and skills development accessible to EVERYONE across our communities — especially those who need it most.

Synergy STEM CIC, Company No. 16850297, has been created to drive genuine, measurable community impact across North Wales, Cheshire and beyond. Our focus is simple: remove barriers, widen participation and open doors to opportunity.

🌍 Why a CIC?

As our work grew across schools, community groups, employers and local authorities, it became increasingly clear that many learners — young people, unemployed adults, women returning to work, and individuals from low-income or Welsh-speaking communities — needed tailored support.

A CIC allows us to:

  • Access grants, funding and community investment
(including National Lottery, Local Authority funds, UKSPF, equality & inclusion programmes)

  • Deliver subsidised or free programmes for those facing financial, social or educational disadvantage

  • Partner with schools, charities and community organisations to reach people who may otherwise be missed

  • Guarantee that all profits are reinvested directly into community learning, outreach and support

  • Operate with transparency, accountability and an asset-lock — ensuring long-term impact, not commercial gain

💡 What Will Synergy STEM CIC Deliver?

1. Community STEM Outreach

Hands-on workshops, clubs, mentoring and STEM experiences for children, young people and families who may not normally access such opportunities.
This includes rural communities, Welsh-medium schools, SEND learners and underrepresented groups.

2. Financial Literacy for All

Building confidence, resilience and practical skills through free or subsidised financial education programmes, including:

  • Budgeting & money management

  • Debt awareness

  • Everyday financial decision-making

  • Skills Bootcamp pathways

  • Community workshops for adults

3. Skills for Employment

Supporting unemployed adults, career returners and young people with essential employability training:

  • CV guidance

  • Interview preparation

  • Employer engagement

  • Digital skills

  • Pathways into apprenticeships and jobs

4. Programmes That Reflect Local Need

Every community is different. Whether supporting Welsh-language learners, people facing economic hardship, women in STEM, or schools in areas of deprivation, the CIC is designed to respond to local priorities.

💬 Our Mission

To inspire curiosity, build confidence and create opportunities through STEM, financial education and community empowerment.

We want every person — regardless of background, postcode or circumstance — to have the skills and belief to take their next step towards education, employment or personal growth.
